Gloria Bryan's bio
In my service as Accountant / Bookkeeper I have the distinct pleasure and privilege of working in the ‘Back Office’ and I love it. There I find time to add numbers and count my blessings. When I reconcile bank accounts I consider how I am or can be reconciled to Christ. My many years of experience as Staff Accountant with Moran Towing Corporation prepared me for a time such as this. I am blessed by this experience and knowledge so that I may be a blessing to the Rock. (Forgive me if I still sound prideful, God is working on that!).
Then there is the Christian Education Department…after agreeing to be a substitute for two weeks, more than ten years have gone by and I am still there teaching 1st and 2nd Grade kids. Serving in this capacity is insuring that I remain youthful as long as I remain useful. Sometimes I think the children minister to me more than I to them. Their enthusiasm, their creativity, and how much they love ‘fishing for Bible verses’ bring me much joy. But I have a secret………the greatest joy is seeing that the 16 year olds whom I taught at 6 years old are serving God.
Also, what would Friday Evenings be like without Ladies’ Bible Study? We come together and have FF&F….No…this has nothing to do with Fried Flying Fish ( a Barbados treat). We have Fellowship which allows us to share our understanding and application of God’s Word. We uplift and encourage one another, we pray with and for each other as we develop trust and friendships. Food is also part of the Friday Evening equation. We do not always know what the menu will be, but when it arrives, it is always good to the last bite. And I never knew Bible Study could generate such Fun. Who said Christians can’t have fun?
Outside of the Rock, I enjoy reading, poetry, crossword puzzles while listening to Classical music and cooking. In addition, my career as a Mary Kay Cosmetics Independent Consultant keeps me stimulated.
Since Jesus became the Rock of my Salvation I do all things with Eternity in Mind. Gloria Bryan earned her BBA in Accounting from Baruch College, in New York, N.Y.

It is now more than thirteen years that I found a home at Church @ the Rock (then Grace Church). Not only have I found a home, I have found a family of like-minded believers, and a position where I can serve behind the scenes (I am not an up-front person).
